Residents of Playa Blanca will no longer need to make the long trip to Playa Honda to shop at Congelados Ropers, the long-established food supermarket. There is a now a brand new store at the main Shopping Centre at Las Coloradas, near Papagayo and Marina Rubicon.

The new "Ropers"store seems to sell just about everything that will be familiar to those who have shopped at Playa Honda: frozen and fresh meat, fish, delicatessen cooked meats and cheeses, greengrocery, plus a good selection of quality wines.

Parking is easy at the Las Coloradas Shopping Centre, with an underground car park, serviced by a lift that comes out immediately opposite the store. There are also several coffee shops in the Centre, where you can enjoy a rest after some serious stocking up!

The unusually wet winter has prepared the way for a beautiful Spring landscape across Lanzarote.  The textures, colours and varieties of flowers and plants are simply breathtaking.  Our roving photographer has been out and about capturing the beauty of the island...
