Costa Teguise Lanzarote
Costa Teguise is a relatively new resort on Lanzarote, and has
been developed very much for the holiday industry. It is
situated around the middle of the island, just north of the capital
city, Arrecife, and not far from the airport. Costa Teguise
has the feel of a purpose-built holiday resort, but manages to
retain a quiet and dignified atmosphere. As such it is
equally popular for singles, older couples and families with small
children.
The beaches on Costa Teguise are excellent, and water sports,
especially wind-surfing, snorkelling and scuba-diving are very
popular here. Playa de las Cucharas has great views, and
Playa Bastian is also very popular.
Costa Teguise has a wealth of holiday accommodation - hotels
large and small, villas and apartments, as well as a wide range of
bars and restaurants. In addition to classic Canarian
cuisine, you can enjoy good Indian, Chinese , Italian and seafood
restaurants - no chance of culinary boredom! English
breakfasts are also on many menus.
The shops around the resort specialise in a combination of
souvenirs, clothing and beach accessories, and there are also some
duty-free home electronics stores. The bigger shopping
centres on the island in and around Arrecife are only a short car
or taxi ride away.
The longest established golf course on Lanzarote is also just
outside the main town of Costa Teguise, and there is a Water Park
close by as well.
Lanzarote's Costa Teguise makes for a great holiday base, with
its wide range of facilities. Because it is so close to the
centre of the island, it is also a great hub for exploring in all
directions.
