Mirador del Rio
Quite simply - one of the best, if not THE best, views in the whole of the Canary Islands.
Mirador del Rio is a spectacular viewing point, hewn out of the northern-most tip of the island, and looking down, as if from the cockpit of a plane, on the neighbouring islands of La Graciosa and Montana Clara.
Another Cesar Manrique creation, the Mirador consists of an arc-shaped restaurant/bar fronted by a glass wall that looks out over the Atlantic. You can also go outside and make use of the telescope to get a closer view and take photographs. Above the restaurant is a shop selling various Lanzarote books, gifts and souvenirs.
La Graciosa itself can be reached via ferry from Orzola, a good excuse for a 30 minute boat trip across the straits of El Rio, which will set you down in the picturesque fishing village of Caleta del Sebo.
